Advantages & Disadvantages associated with CT Scan Measurement

Computed tomography is a special type of x-ray procedure that involvers the indirect measurement of the wakening or attenuation, of x-rays at numerous positions located around the patient being investigated. CT (computed tomography) check out is an imaging test is usually used to help diagnose numerous medical conditions patient. Patient usually lie within the tool scans and x-ray device (x-ray) and then perform a scan (checking) at patient.CT body scan may produce detailed picture of soppy tissues, muscles, internal organs, bone fragments, and most importantly, tumors or other problems. While the method is widely used because diagnostic imaging, CT scan also offers some drawbacks that must be considered.

Advantages associated with  CT Scan

1. Very comprehensive

Of all the internal imaging methods are available, CT scan is the most comprehensive so as to provide the most complete picture associated with what's happening inside the patient. CT check out is very useful and popular to diagnose cancer.

2. Pain-free

CT scan procedure non-invasive and pain-free. CT scan procedure can be done fairly quickly and is comfortable for many patients.

3. Right

CT tests give doctors a very obvious information about the location and distribute of tumor that is very useful in planning a biopsy, surgery, rays, or other treatment.

 Disadvantages associated with CT Scan

1. Radiation

In contrast to other diagnostic tests, CT scans provide higher radiation doses in order to patient.Scan generally performed only one time will not cause problems. But the process is repeated to increase the chance of cancer due to radiation publicity is repeated.

2. Allergic symptoms

Patients who underwent the CT scan may receive dosages of substances known as "contrast brokers," which contains iodine. Contrast agent required for the scan on a specific body part has a better quality so it is more easily analyzed.A few patients may experience allergic reactions in order to contrast agents with the signs and symptoms include a metallic taste in the actual mouth, hives, and difficulty breathing. The good news, a contrast broker containing iodine is not readily available as well as increasingly used.

3. Misinterpretation

Simply because CT scans are very detailed, it might potentially make a mistake doctor identify small abnormalities in the body like a serious problem like cancer, misalnya.Hal this could have caused anxiety within patients with additional costs with regard to follow-up tests or treatments are unneeded.
